Federal Government Immersion (8th Grade)
Focus: National Perspectives of Violence

Piloted in Washington DC (USA)

IMPROVE Program Designer/Director: Dr. Michael J. Whitely

Kent State University Student Coordinator: Lisa Peters

Experiential learning immersion involves students visiting Washington DC governmental agencies to meet with agents from the FBI, DEA, ATF and US Marshal Service to learn about national perspectives of violence. The use of service-learning and civic engagement programming to enhance student learning is spotlighted in this segment with students giving demonstrations on a national issue of their choice.
