NICCI IMPROVE

Northern Ireland Community Cooperation Initiative (NICCI)
International Model of Partnerships for the Reduction of
Violence Through Education (IMPROVE)
Designed, Produced and Directed by: Michael J. Whitely
Administrative Coordinator: Linda Conroy and Sue Ferron

NICCI IMPROVE was the last of the NICCI programs, outlined in the five-year plan of action between Kent State University students/faculty and the local governments of Northern Ireland.  The creation of the Phoenix Peace Fountain served as a catalyst encouraging global leaders to form partnerships and dialogue about methods to reducing violence within their unique demographic areas.  The IMPROVE pilot program has grown to include the countries of the United States of America, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Republic of Ireland, England, Whales and Slovenia.  The President of Interpol has encouraged the 182 member countries of Interpol to join the peace effort.  Discussions have been initiated to bring IMPROVE to the continent of Africa.
